FAQ
Questions we actually get
How long does the drive from Denver to the mountains take?
It depends on the route and the day. Denver to Vail runs 2h 10m–2h 45m in clear conditions and up to five hours on a peak ski weekend. Keystone runs 1h 48m and Aspen 3h–4h 30m in clear conditions.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Tell us the flight number when you book. Delays are normal at DEN in winter and we plan for them — a late arrival is not a rebooking. Exact wait-time terms are confirmed in your written quote.
Is the price per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle. Route rates are one way for an SUV with up to six passengers (Red Rocks is a round trip); the Sprinter for larger groups is quoted on request. Shared shuttles price per seat instead, so the comparison depends entirely on your group size.
Do I need chains or special tires in Colorado?
From September 1 to May 31, Colorado enforces its traction law on I-70 between Dotsero and Morrison. Vehicles need snowflake-rated winter, all-weather, or M+S tires with 3/16 inch of tread minimum. All-wheel drive alone does not qualify. Our vehicles are compliant all season, so this is our problem rather than yours.
Can you carry skis and snowboards?
Yes. Ski bags are long rather than bulky, so the limit is usually shape rather than volume, and folding a row to fit gear removes seats you may need. Tell us the passenger count and the ski bag count when you book and we will size the vehicle to both.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, but we need to know in advance — seat type depends on the age and weight of the child, and the right seat has to be in the vehicle before it leaves for the airport. Tell us in the request form.
How far in advance should I book?
For holiday weeks — Christmas, New Year, Presidents Day, spring break — book several weeks out. Vehicles in Colorado genuinely sell out on those dates. Ordinary winter weekends usually need a few days. Summer is more forgiving.
What if the pass closes?
Vail Pass, Berthoud Pass and Independence Pass all close, and the interstate itself closes for avalanche control and accidents. We monitor conditions before departure and reroute or reschedule. What we will not do is start a drive that cannot finish.
How early should I leave for a flight out of DEN?
Work back from the drive time, then add for the pass and the airport. Denver to Vail alone runs 2h 10m–2h 45m in clear conditions and up to 5h on a peak weekend, and DEN is a major hub with long security lines.
Do you serve the regional mountain airports?
Eagle County (EGE) has its own page with transfers to Vail, Beaver Creek and the other resorts. For Aspen (ASE), Yampa Valley (HDN) or Montrose (MTJ), send the trip and we will quote it. Weather cancellations at the small airports are common in winter, and travelers frequently get rerouted to DEN at short notice. Call us if that happens to you.
