The short answer

Denver International to Arrowhead is 135 miles. In summer the drive takes 145 to 155 minutes, or roughly 2h 25m to 2h 35m.

Those are summer figures. Plan for more in snow, and ask for a current estimate when you book.

The rate starts at $550 for an SUV with up to 6 passengers.

Where Arrowhead sits

Arrowhead is the westernmost of the three Beaver Creek villages, and the quietest. It lies about 2 miles west of Beaver Creek.

Bachelor Gulch sits between the two. The Village-to-Village ski trail, roughly 3.5 miles long, connects all three on snow.

In summer, the reason to come is golf. Arrowhead has its own Jack Nicklaus-designed course.

A different exit than Beaver Creek

The first 120 miles are the Vail drive, Eisenhower Tunnel and Vail Pass included.

After Vail, the routes split. Beaver Creek and Bachelor Gulch traffic leaves I-70 at exit 167 in Avon. Arrowhead traffic stays on 4 more miles and leaves at exit 163 in Edwards.

From the exit, Highway 6 leads to a roundabout at Arrowhead Drive. That roundabout was built to make the main gate safer to enter.

The gate

The main gate sits at the roundabout. Cars check in there with Public Safety before going in.

Past the gate, Arrowhead Drive runs about 1 mile into the village.

Send the full street address with your booking. “Arrowhead” alone covers a lot of ground, as the next section shows.

Your home may not be at the lift

Not every Arrowhead address is ski-in. Some private homes sit up to a 1-mile shuttle ride from the lift.

That matters on the first morning more than on arrival day. Ask your host how the shuttle works before you land, so the 1 mile does not surprise you in ski boots.

The closer airport

Eagle County Regional (EGE) is 30 minutes from Arrowhead. Coming from the west, the car reaches exit 163 without crossing Vail Pass.

If your airline flies into Eagle, see our Eagle airport service and name your airport in the request.

Questions we actually get asked

How long does it take to drive from Denver airport to Arrowhead?
135 miles and 2h 25m–2h 35m in clear conditions. Winter weekends run longer.
How much is a car from Denver airport to Arrowhead?
From $550 one way for an SUV with up to six passengers — the price is for the vehicle, not per passenger. Tolls, child seats and gratuity are included. Larger groups ride in a Sprinter, quoted on request.
Which high points does this route cross?
Eisenhower Tunnel at 11,158 ft, Vail Pass at 10,662 ft. Weather closes them from time to time, and any detour adds time.
Do I need snow chains or a special vehicle?
Not in our car. Colorado enforces its traction law on I-70 between Dotsero and Morrison from September 1 through May 31, and every vehicle in our fleet carries compliant tires for the full season. In a rental it is your problem: the fine is $100 plus a $33 surcharge, and all-wheel drive alone does not satisfy the law.
Will our skis and luggage fit?
A Suburban gives 41.5 cubic feet with all three rows up and 98.8 with the third folded. Ski bags are long rather than bulky, so the constraint is usually shape, not volume — tell us the passenger count, bag count and ski bag count and we will size the vehicle.
Where do I meet my driver at Denver airport?
Pre-arranged private cars meet passengers on Level 5 of the Jeppesen Terminal, at Island 2. Your driver waits at the vehicle in the designated pickup area, not inside the terminal.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Airport waiting is included in the price. A delayed flight is not a rebooking.
Should I fly into EGE instead?
EGE is about 30 minutes from Arrowhead. Tell us which airport you are landing at when you request the quote.
